The IP54 rating on the B2700 stands for International Protection, the number 5 means that while the phone is resistant to dust, it is not absolutely protected from it. The number 4 means splashing water on the phone should have no harmful effect, but it is not waterproof, meaning it should not be submerged. While the phone is not disaster proof, it is robust and durable for use. Our test phone has been used for nearly 12 months and still works fine after being repeatedly dropped on hard surfaces, covered in dirt and mud, then washed off under a tap.
